My Prayers for Jaycee Lee Dugard

Kidnapped Girl FoundI can’t help getting on my soap box for this one… But first, I have to say how elated, and delighted I was to hear the news that Jaycee Lee Dugard, the 11 year old girl that was snatched off the street, and featured on America’s Most Wanted,  had been found safe after 18 years.

I don’t know Jaycee, but this is the kind of story that always ends up bad. Imagine how wonderful it must have been for her family to get the phone call that brought them the news, Jaycee was alive and well.  After 18 years, they would finally get their little girl back.

Still, I can’t fathom the horror, this girl has been through. I can only imagine the deep emotional scars that she will carry the rest of her life.

For that, I pray for Jaycee Lee Dugard, that she can accept, that what happened to her was pure evil, and that there was nothing she could have done to prevent it.

Now for the soap box… Why do we keep allowing this to happen to us. These people that kidnapped this innocent little girl, were convicted sex offenders. They live amongst us, yet nobody is checking on them, looking in their homes and in their shed. So much time and effort is put into protecting the offenders rights, yet Jaycee Lee Dugard and her family have theirs trampled by these monsters.

To Jaycee Lee and your family: Welcome home and God Bless. I wish nothing more than all of life’s greatness for all of your family. You deserve it.

To the Garridos: I sure hope that this is the time that our justice system finally lowers the boom on you monsters. May you never have the chance to be my neighbor, or anybody else in this country.

Please join me in wishing your heartfelt best to this wonderful family. Today they celebrate, but I can only imagine the long road to full recovery that lies ahead.

Well Said Steve. Our country is a country based on the rule of law. Somewhere along the way laws developed loopholes. The loopholes created more laws, and that vicious cycle has continued sometimes for good, others not so much. I think what has been blurred is the spirit of Law and more importantly, Justice.
