But September 18, 2009 changed everything and FORCED me to take immediate action because... I GOT FIRED!

Things Happen For A Reason

My wife and I were scared to death!

This happened before, and we lost EVERYTHING.

"What are we going to do?", she asked.

"I'm not sure," I answered, "but for now, I'm just going to contact every single person I know, and see if they have something "temporary""...

Temporary... HAH!!!

My "Temporary" solution turned into my FULL TIME COMPANY on the VERY FIRST DAY!!!

You see, I did what I said I'd do...

I sent a message to EVERY SINGLE PERSON I knew...

And the phone IMMEDIATELY started ringing!

By the end of the day, I'd LANDED MY FIRST 2 CLIENTS!

The funny thing was, those 2 clients paid me even more than I made at my J.O.B.!

Today, a decade later, I'm still my own Boss. My days are filled with meaningful activities because I do what I LOVE doing and the money is better than ever!

I have a confession to make...

If you asked me to name the people that I thought would hire me, my first 2 clients would never have made the list.

I hardly even knew one of them.

We were connected on LinkedIn but I'd never met him personally and didn't really know him at all.

The other client SHOCKED me.

If I'd filtered my list at all, I NEVER would have contacted him because he HATED the company that I worked for. In my mind, I thought he hated me because he hated them. The only time we ever met was over pricing issues and he even called me some pretty ugly names!

Yet, there he was, on day one, offering me $2500 to do about 4 hours worth of work!

"I LOVE This! I'm NEVER going to work for anybody EVER again!"

The Big Lesson I Learned

"CONNECTED LEADS" RULE!

In less than a day, I was able to put together a MASSIVE list of "CONNECTED LEADS" and contact them DIRECTLY.

I could never have done this and gotten my clients so quickly if I had to:

• Try to find the names and contact info of decision makers.
  
  
• Get past "Gatekeepers" that were paid to keep me out.
  
  
• Cold-Call people that didn't know me from Adam.

No way... it just doesn't work that way.

On the flip side, contacting your "Connected Leads" is so much better because: 

1. You don't have to waste time finding decision makers and their contact info, because you already have it!
   
   
2. You don't have to deal with nasty "Gatekeepers" because you simply go right around them (my favorite part is the look in their eyes when I get an appointment and get to smile at them face-to-face as I walk right by them into "Mr. Big's" office. Sometimes I bring them some chocolates so they don't hate me forever)!
   
   
3. You lock in "Top of Mind" presence by getting your name and message in front of the most important people!
   
   
4. You get "Unlimited Touches"... You've always heard that it takes 7, or 12 touches or more to get a "Yes". Well this is the least expensive, most efficient and most reliable way you can do that!
   
   
5. You quickly see your "Hottest Prospects", by tracking their email clicks, web visits, etc. You can't possibly do this with cold traffic.
   
   
6. I can go on and on and on and on...

But, that's just the beginning, there's so much more to it.

The Only Problem Is...

The good news is, in today's "Connected" world, you have more "Connected Leads" than ever before!
