You can stop worrying about Search Engine Optimization. There is an easy way to get more traffic to your site so that SEO comes naturally.

Start a Blog.

Not just any blog. You have to set it up right so that it is fully optimized for google and the other search engines. You also have to have a posting strategy that works. When you do these 2 things you will get results. (hang on til the end and I’ll show you how)

Want proof?

I’ll compare my site, the one you are on right now with the web site grader of a random site I found of a local business, Marygrove Awnings of Austin, TX.

We’ll use a great, FREE tool called Web Site Grader, put out by Hub Spot.

Now, take a look at Marygrove’s web site grade results. This site scores only a 63 (out of 100). Scroll down and you will see that the site has been up for over 11 years, yet only has 45 pages indexed by google.

The search engines do not like sites like these because they are not frequently updated. Their content gets stale.

On the other hand, this site, SteveRosenbaum.com is optimized much better for the search engines to drive traffic to it. It scores a 93! Even though this particular site has only been up for less than 6 months, Google has indexed over 139 pages on it!

Do you want to set up your site to get more traffic, while saving yourself a lot of money, time and aggravation? Ask me about my turnkey blog installation and training program. In less than 2 days, you can completely upgrade your site to be fully optimized with a custom, full-featured blog installed on your own private domain.

Today, Google announced plans to index the twitter streams of your friends and other social media and include the results in your searches. This amazing new development is sure to change SEO and personalize your SERPS.

“There is a very fundamental shift going on from the information Web to the social Web.” It’s a shift that Google has been participating in for several years…”, says Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg.

Google labs has announced a new “experiment” to implement its new social media search a strategy. As Google explains:

More easily find relevant blogs, reviews and other public content from your social circle.

Sign in to Google and do a search. If there’s relevant web content written by people in your social circle, it will automatically show up at the bottom of your search results under a section called “Results from people in your social circle.”

To see even more social content you can click the “Show options” link at the top of the results page and then click on the “Social” link.

What is your social circle? It’s a combination of your Gmail chat buddies, your Gmail contacts friends, family and co-worker groups, and people you’re publicly connected to on other social sites (such as Twitter and FriendFeed).

You can be a part of this experiment by visiting Google labs and reading more about Google’s social media search strategy.

How do you think Google’s new strategy will change the way businesses use search engines?

This Spring, Jay Thompson’s PhoenixRealEstateGuy took home Inman’s Most Innovative Blog Award. It turns out that Inman is not Thompson’s only fan… so is Google!

The web is amuck with “SEO Experts” touting ways to manipulate the system to improve your search engine rankings. Thompson proves theres no trickery needed. The best way to consistently come out on top for important search terms is to provide good, timely, relevant content and become the trusted authority in your field.

Here’s an incredible example of how powerful and quickly good blogging can get you top search engine results.

On July 28, 2009, Horizon Realty in Chicago caused a buzz in the social media world when they announced that they were suing one of their tenants for making a negative tweet to her 22 followers.

This caused an immediate backlash. Thousands of people blogged, tweeted and retweeted lethal attacks on Horizon ranging from the humorous to the rediculous.

Amazingly, the search term “Horizon Realty” skyrocketed from next to nothing to Number 66 on the Google Hot Trends… That’s right 66 on all of Google!

PhoenixRealEstateGuy.com did what it does best. It reported on important relevant news that effected it’s industry, as it happened.

And Google LOVED IT!

So much so, that Google rewarded PhoenixRealEstateGuy.com with the number 3 blog post return and high ranking on it’s regular search.

Think about that.

In the course of a few hours an event happened that causes a search term to become one of the hottest on the web, and Jay Thompson, because of the trust and authority he had built up, was able to capture those eyeballs and bring them to his site.

How valuable is that?

News events happen all the time. You need to earn Google’s trust over time by being a consistent and reputable reporter. When you do, Google will reward you for your efforts.

Congrats to you Jay, and thank you for being a leader in the social media movement.
