Save Housing Express: Home Energy Solutions First For Energy Efficient Homes
The Save Housing Express departed Austin, TX, today, on a 3000 mile round trip tour to Washington DC, showcasing leading technology products for energy efficient homes. During the trip, Craig Bushon from Home Energy Solutions and Steve Rosenbaum from BMC West will join American Youthworks and Youthbuild AmeriCorps for Green Homebuilding Service Day.
Youthbuild is celebrating it’s 30th anniversary by building a Green affordable home on the Mall in Washington D.C. Upon completion, the home will be disassembled and transported to Brownsville, TX, where it will be presented to a family that was displaced by Hurricane Dolly.
“We are very excited to provide some of our most cost-effective, energy efficient windows and products,” says Bushon.
Home Energy Solutions and BMC West donated 5 windows, featuring Cardinal 366 LoE Glass, as well as 3 fiberglass insulated exterior doors. The kitchen door received an energy upgrade with the addition of a nano-technology 3M PR-50 window film.
“The glass treatment is one of the easiest, most cost effective energy solutions a homeowner can quicky do,” adds Rosenbaum. “Not only will the window reduce the heat coming through, but it will block out 99% of the UV and protect the interior of the house and furnishings.”
