As you say, it's relatively easy for a builder to put an "Energy Star" sign in the yard. That's why I think some of the other rating schemes are valuable too, e.g. Austin Energy Green Building Program When "Energy Star" means more to green home shoppers, that can help ensure we're getting higher performance energy efficient homes I think that the different rating schemes are confusing for consumers.
